Alyssa Abbey is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Alyssa is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has practiced Dermatology for the last nine years at Bend Memorial Clinic. Alyssa is looking forward to joining Central Oregon Dermatology in June of 2016.
Alyssa specializes in general Dermatology and especially enjoys cosmetic and surgical procedures. Educating patients about the risks associated with chronic, unprotected sun exposure, tanning bed use, and giving tips on skin cancer prevention has become her mission. She feels that by educating patients about prevention she has a chance to impact the future health of their skin.
Alyssa grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. She attended the University of Oregon where she received her BA in International Studies. For her medical training she attended Barry University in Miami, Florida and was awarded a Masters of Clinical Medical Sciences and Physician Assistant degree. In addition to her required clinical rotations, she did an elective rotation in Dermatology and she knew this would be her chosen field.
Alyssa shares her very active life with her husband and two young children, Ruby and Wilder. Outside of work, she enjoys nearly every outdoor activity offered in Bend. She loves to ski, bike, hike, and stand-up paddle board. She also has a dedicated yoga practice.
