Category: IG-SRT

No changes in diet or regular medications are needed for IG-SRT. You can continue to eat your normal healthy diet. There are no dietary restrictions (unlike some treatments where, say, you have to avoid certain foods – IG-SRT has no such interactions). In fact, maintaining good nutrition may help your skin heal optimally, so a balanced diet is beneficial, but you don’t have to follow any special regimen. As for medications: keep taking all your prescribed medicines as you normally would. You do not need to stop blood thinners, aspirin, or any other drugs for IG-SRT (whereas for surgery, sometimes those are paused due to bleeding risk – not an issue here). The radiation treatment does not conflict with medications like blood pressure pills, diabetes medications, etc. If you’re on immunosuppressants or anything – still, no change, though do inform your doctor of all medications you take, as a good practice. Even supplements and vitamins are fine to continue. There’s no evidence that any particular medication interferes with the effectiveness of IG-SRT. So, from a treatment standpoint, just keep your routine – eat well, stay hydrated, and take your meds on schedule. Of course, avoid any habits that might impair healing (like heavy smoking or excessive alcohol), as those are general health considerations, but there’s no specific medication or food to avoid due to IG-SRT itself.
