In most cases, no time off work is necessary. IG-SRT sessions are brief (around 15 minutes) and do not incapacitate you, so many patients schedule them before or after work or even on a lunch break. You can go to work on treatment days with no issues – you won’t be groggy or in pain. There’s no mandatory rest needed after a session, so you can return to work immediately. Some patients choose to adjust their work hours slightly to accommodate the thrice-weekly or daily visit (for example, coming in early and then going to work a bit late, or ducking out midday), but this depends on your job flexibility. If your workplace is far from the clinic, you might coordinate with your employer about a modified schedule. However, you do not require sick leave for recovery, since there’s nothing physically limiting you post-treatment. There are a few exceptions – if your job involves a lot of outdoors time in the sun, we’d ask you to cover the treated area from sun during that time. Or if your job is very dirty or puts you in contact with irritants (say, construction dust directly on the treated site), you might need to protect the area. But those are minor accommodations. Most people work full-time through IG-SRT without any special arrangements beyond scheduling the appointments. Your productivity shouldn’t be affected. If your employer is concerned, we can provide a note explaining that you are fit for work during therapy. So, in summary, time off is usually not needed, and you can work normally – just coordinate the appointment times in a way that fits your work schedule.
