No, anesthesia is not required at all. IG-SRT is completely non-invasive and generally painless, so you won’t need any numbing injections or sedatives. Unlike surgery, where local anesthesia (or sometimes even general anesthesia) is used to prevent pain from cutting, IG-SRT feels like nothing more than getting an X-ray – and getting an X-ray doesn’t hurt. Because of this, the whole process is simpler on you: there are no needles to administer anesthetic and no waiting for anything to get numb. You’ll be fully awake and comfortable throughout the procedure. Patients usually sit or lie there feeling normal as the treatment is delivered. The lack of anesthesia also means you have no post-procedure recovery to worry about (no dizziness or numbness to wear off). So, rest assured, no shots or IVs are needed for your IG-SRT sessions.
