Why did Central Oregon Dermatology choose to offer IG-SRT?

We chose to offer IG-SRT (through the GentleCure program) because we believe it provides an outstanding combination of safety, effectiveness, and patient comfort. When reviewing the technology, we saw that IG-SRT has cure rates equal to or even better than Mohs surgery, according to published research (one study showed a 99.3% cure rate, which we believe to be as good as – if not better than – Mohs for those cases). Additionally, IG-SRT has been shown to be safer and more effective than non-image-guided forms of radiation therapy, due to the precision that ultrasound guidance adds. Importantly, the cosmetic outcomes with IG-SRT are superior – patients avoid scarring and often have virtually invisible results after healing. We wanted our patients to have a surgery-free option that doesn’t compromise on cure rate. With IG-SRT, we can treat skin cancer gently: no cutting, no reconstruction, minimal risk, and excellent results. Given that it’s FDA-cleared and backed by extensive clinical evidence, we felt it was a “gold-standard” technology that our patients in Central Oregon deserve to have access to. In summary, we offer IG-SRT because it’s the most advanced, patient-friendly treatment available for non-melanoma skin cancers, and it aligns with our commitment to effective and compassionate care.
